Mark Donnelly: Love Songs Old & New
Mark Donnelly is affectionately known by hockey fans as "Mr. O Canada" for his rousing and interactive performances of the national anthem at Vancouver Canuck games. On February 12th, Mark will be joined by his daughter, Colleen, for an evening of songs of love. Beginning with the delightful "Ecco la primavera" of Francesco Landini (d. 1397), the duo will wend their way through seven centuries and three languages. Included in the journey are masterpieces by Mozart & Beethoven, the first song ever written expressly to be recorded (Mattinata by Leoncavallo), and many Broadway favorites.
Highlighting the evening will be the premiere of Mark's musical setting of Alfred Noyes' classic ballad of love & death: The HIGHWAYMAN.
Profits from this concert will help support the Jump Kick Martial Arts Foundation.
